MIJ FM Radio, an award-winning radio station with well trained, tried and tested media practitioners is informing the general public that it is conducting short courses in broadcasting and multi-media production.
The training will take place at MIJ FM radio studios in Blantyre.
The short course covers the following modules.
- Radio Broadcasting
Participants will cover the following areas;
- Introduction to radio broadcasting.
- News writing for radio.
- Presentation.
- Interviewing skills.
- Deejaying.
- Citizen Journalism
Participants will cover the following areas;
- Introduction to news writing and reporting.
- Multimedia news writing.
- Ethical reporting.
- Event Photography
Participants will cover the following areas;
- Introduction to events management.
- Camera and photography.
- Picture shooting and editing.
- Media Entrepreneurship
Participants will cover the following areas;
- Introduction to media entrepreneurship.
- Writing business proposals and concept papers.
- Exploiting windows of opportunity in media entrepreneurship.
The short course will take place from 27 June to 1 July 2022. MIJ is therefore inviting applications from interested individuals who hold MSCE. Those with higher qualifications will have an added advantage.
Course fees is MK 80,000.00 per participant. Each participant will be responsible for his or her accommodation, transport and lunch costs. Refreshments, however, will be provided.
Successful participants will be awarded with a Certificate of Completion from Malawi Institute of Journalism – MIJ.
