For decades, the Malawi Institute of Journalism (MIJ) – the mother of journalism training in the country – has been training media practitioners in Malawi. Before MIJ came into existence, there was no formal journalism training in the country.
You might wish to know that most of the celebrated journalists you know are proudly products of the Malawi Institute of Journalism!
Therefore, if you have been looking forward to joining this team of well-trained journalists, don’t you worry, because MIJ is calling for applications for its January 2023 intake into its Certificate and Diploma programmes tenable at its Blantyre, Lilongwe and Mzuzu campuses.
Minimum entry requirements
- Certificate in Journalism programme
Applicants should be holders of a Malawi School Certificate of Education (MSCE), with at least four credits including English.
- Diploma in Journalism Programme
Applicants should be holders of a Certificate in journalism or its equivalent or any related higher qualification from a recognized institution.
Applicants with a tertiary qualification must also provide a proof of their journalism work such as an article in a publication and a recorded TV or Radio program.
Mode of Application
Fill an application form with a non-refundable application fee of K10,000.00 and attach copies of educational qualifications from a recognised academic institution.
